This is a beautiful example of the height of Edwardian 1900s fashion for the well-heeled, a Liberty’s label black ruched velvet halo beret hat, garnished with exotic feather plumage at the front to signify wealth and status as well as being fashionable. The embroidered label must be one of the first of Liberty’s labels with just the name and a red tudor rose, what a fabulous find. The silky velvet is ruched and gathered to emphasis how it catches the light in that sumptuous way good quality velvet does.

• Perfect for historical reenactment events or for TV film costume.
• Sits nicely on the back of the head like a beret and tilts on the crown like a halo hat, my photo's really do not do it justice.

Very good condition for it’s age, it just has a few feathers coming loose which I shall endeavour to secure.
