So sleek and stylish is this vintage ladies cocktail hat in a plush black velvet by Flechats, circa 1950s.

The pert little French cap has a sculptural shape, with firm crown and asymmetrical treatment in front as shown.  Measuring along the outside, it measures approximately 11 inches side to side, and 10&1/4 inches, front to back.

There is also a petersham ribbon within, along with an embroidered label for “Lord & Taylor”, and stamp for “Flechats” and “Made in France”.
